Laura Regan M.D.
Dr. Regan holds a BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego. She is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine. During her medical school training, she spent two years doing clinical rotations at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her Dermatology residency training was completed at Brown University. She subsequently trained in Dermatopathology at the University of Texas Southwestern. Dr. Regan is a board certified dermatologist who has been in private practice since 2004. She has been practicing in the Richmond area since 2006. She is currently accepting new patients.
Fred Park M.D
Dr. Park received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his medical degree from the University of Illinois. He completed a six-year post-graduate residency in general and plastic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. He is board certified in the specialty of plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the leading organization of board-certified plastic surgeons specializing in cosmetic plastic surgery.
Michael C. White, M.D.
Dr. White was born in Norfolk, VA and he grew up in Southside Virginia. While serving as a Major in the Air Force, he was Chief of the Department of Dermatology at Scott Air Force Base, IL from 1987 until 1989. He also received the Air Force Commendation Medal.
Joining our practice January 2019, Dr. White practices general medical and surgical dermatology, including the evaluation and management of skin cancer.
Amy Cavanagh, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
Amy specializes in Dermatology with 13 plus years of experience and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her forte is general dermatology and skin cancer diagnosis and treatment management but also has cosmetic experience. Her professional demeanor and high motivation allows her to evaluate and treat individuals with health care needs and assist in improving the quality of their care. Amy grew up primarily in Florida. She enjoys music, traveling, theater, yoga, and spending time with family and friends. She is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, the Dermatology Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association.

Leslie Farr, FNP-BC
Leslie Farr is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner who joined James River Dermatology in 2017 after 4 years of clinical and cosmetic Dermatology experience in her hometown of Bluefield, VA. Leslie has served the healthcare community for over 11 years. She completed her undergraduate degree in Bachelors in the Science of Nursing from Radford University and completed her Masters Degree from Marshall University. Her clinical interests include acne, rosacea, eczema and psoriasis. Leslie recently relocated to the Ashland area with her husband and two daughters.
Michele Phillips, PA-C
Michele Phillips is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who joined James River Dermatology in 2010 after 3 years of clinical experience with Capital Dermatology in Alexandria. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry at Virginia Tech. She is a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, Virginia Tech's Pre-Medical Honor Society. Michele received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Norfolk, VA. While at EVMS, she completed rotations specializing in dermatology and participated in meetings hosted by the Tidewater Dermatology Society. She is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and participates in the society's annual conferences.
Jamie Simmons, PA-C
Jamie Simmons is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who joined James River Dermatology in 2013 after three years of Dermatology experience in Richmond. She completed her undergraduate degree in Medical Technology from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. Jamie received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia PA. After graduation Jamie worked in family medicine and pediatrics before relocating to Midlothian, VA with her husband and three children. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Lauren Shutt, PA-C
Lauren is a certified Physician Assistant who joined James River Dermatology January 2016. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in the Science of Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise at Virginia Tech. She then attended Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies. Lauren is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA), and the Medical Society of Virginia.
